How do you choose a personal trainer?

Short answer

Start by defining your goal, then look for a trainer whose specialisation fits. Compare the location and session format, public prices, any packages, availability, and verified reviews. On TrainerLink, reviews are tied to completed paid bookings. Schedule an intake or first session to see whether the trainer's explanations and approach work for you.

Checklist for choosing a trainer¶

Define your goal, such as getting stronger, improving your fitness, or building a skill, and read which target groups the trainer works with.
Use filters for specialisation, location, session format (1-on-1, duo, or group), price, and availability.
Compare public prices without an account and review packages and terms; see also how much does a personal trainer cost.
Read the profile and verified reviews; these are tied to completed paid bookings.

Test the personal fit¶

Create a shortlist of two or three trainers who look suitable on paper.
Read the profile for information about the trainer's methods, experience, and approach. Chat becomes available once your booking or client relationship grants you access.
Schedule an intake or first session and look for clear explanations and an approach that feels comfortable.
