Where can personal training take place?

Short answer

Personal training can take place in a gym, the trainer's studio, outdoors, at your location, or online by video call. Not every trainer offers every format. TrainerLink shows the location for each service, and you can filter by session format, such as 1-on-1, duo, or group.

Possible locations¶

Gym — train with equipment at a fixed club where the trainer works.
Trainer's studio — the trainer's own, often small-scale training space.
Outdoors — for example, in a park or on a sports field.
At your location — the trainer comes to you, for example at home.
Online — guidance through a video call from a place that works for you.

Check the service¶

Open a trainer's profile and view the services they offer.
Read the location format and any access requirements for each service.
Filter by location, specialisation, price, availability, and type (1-on-1, duo, or group). City pages such as /personal-trainers/rotterdam group trainers by city.
